Towards stable wheat grain yield and quality under climatic instability

چکیده
Global wheat production is likely to be affected by projected warming and water scarcity. As climate changes faster than breeding, we focused on genotypic environmental effects grain quality of present cultivars. To mimic the continuous challenges farmers face given erratic rainy seasonal temperature pattern East-Mediterranean, 15 commercial hard spring (HSW) cultivars were evaluated in Gilat Research Center, Israel, over four seasons constituting 33 independent dryland field environments. Grains HSW samples from experimental nurseries across Israel three also analyzed represent East Mediterranean agro-climatic span. Samples for yield traits. High humidity mild-temperature during filling associated with higher production, flour extraction, dough extensibility; whereas high precipitation was mainly lower protein, gluten content, tenacity. Correlation between protein content wet environment cultivar dependent, as a specific phase plays major factor some cultivars, while others are more temperature, humidity, or other factors. Test weight index showed clearest relation performance variation, enabling identify stability Stable acceptable market, however, if parameter highly important millers and/or bakers then this under multiple growth conditions might serve decision support tool on-farm selection. Phosphorus use efficiency, grain yield, and quality of triticale and durum wheat under irrigated conditions
After nitrogen stress, phosphorus is the second most widely occurring nutrient deficiency in cereal systems around the world. The objectives of this study were: (1) to look at the effect of changes in phosphorus use efficiency and responsiveness on grain yield and quality of triticale and durum wheat with respect to an old tall durum wheat of the early 1940s, Barrigon Yaqui. A two-year field ex...
متن کاملEffect of Salinity Stress on Grain Yield and Grain Quality in Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) Lines
The effects of salinity stress on grain quality traits of wheat were investigated using 180 lines of F5 generation in two environments (normal and salinity stress). A randomized complete block designs with three replications was used in each of the environments at the Research Farm of the Agricultural and Natural Resources Research Station of Isfahan in 2019-2020 cropping season. Grain yield, p...
متن کاملGrain yield and quality of winter wheat in different planting patterns under deficit irrigation regimes
Limited water resources restrict winter wheat grain yield and quality in the Huang-Huai-Hai Plain of North China, and establishing optimal planting patterns according to crop water requirements is the key factor for achieving rational water use. In this paper, 4 planting patterns were applied, namely, uniform row (30 cm; traditional pattern), wide (40 cm)-narrow (20 cm) row, furrow (double line...

Late-Season Prediction of Wheat Grain Yield and Grain Protein
Pre-harvest prediction of winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) grain yield and/or protein could assist farmers in generating yield maps and reliable product marketing. This study was conducted to determine the relationship between spectral measurements (taken from Feekes growth stage 8 to physiological maturity) and grain yield and grain protein. Spectral measurements were taken using photodiode...
